Moribund is a realistic, semi-literate dog rpg that takes place in the fictional city of Los Hayden where every day of a dog’s life is like a test of it's survival. The city is no place for pets. The dangers of the city are a harsh reality, and unfortunate souls must struggle to find food, shelter, and protection. If starvation doesn't slowly suck the life out of you, you're still at risk of diseases carried by fleas and parasites, and even other dogs may endanger your life. You're lucky that most of the city streets are so congested that traffic never seems to move fast enough to do any damage if you happen to get hit by a car. Too bad this doesn't include the streets in the slums or the outer city limits, where stray dogs are most common. I guess you had better watch your step, mutt, or you wont last a minute.

Quote:
The elderly bitch's legs moved slowly when compared to the bouncing antics of the angelic child that skipped beside her, his legs, unfamiliar with extra weight tangling on occasion. Graeme-- for that was the name of the pup who she supervised-- was quite an excitable fellow, words flowing from his lips without making an entire lot of sense, nothing but young babbling and commentary on the duet's leisurely stroll. Though the black bitch was not his mother, she had been around him for all of his young life, and as such he was completely comfortable losing himself and all shreds of dignity as he indulged in immature play.

His nanny, for lack of a better word, was that of another era-- she had been in the shadows for so long, appearing only to join a troupe which she was sure would be legendary, before fading away again, hiding and coming only when her presence was requested by her chief ( whom she refused to label a king, no matter her respect for him, for her loyalty would only ever lie in the brute who had stolen her heart then gone on to disappear from the world ) or his right hand, the lovely Persephone. A smile crossed her muzzle as she was graced with the memory of the event that had drawn her away from her self-inflicted exile.

When Chaz ( for that was the word to which the twilight-shaded bitch responded to ) had first been alerted to the presence of the young Lestat, Helio, and Graeme, she had been thrilled, fueled with a fire she hadn't felt since her darling brother in all but blood, Sinasteen, had deserted her and his territory, for before that had occurred, he had sired her first, and only litter of puppies, who had left her at a young age to pursue their individual goals in life-- last she had heard, one had even been camping along the border of the neutral lands, something that she did not agree with, but ignored in favor of allowing her darlings to live their own lives.

And, as such, the young bitch had been left alone, to wander the lands she was supposed to be third-in-command of, watching as alpha after alpha came shuffling in and shuffling out, unaware of the lurking presence in their lands, quietly waiting for a new legend, worth her precious care and tending, to emerge-- and it did, in the form of a duo of wolves whom she was sure would change the world. Chaz, a maternal creature, had been ecstatic when her part in this scheme had emerged, in the form of three angels whom she had vowed to care for an protect whenever her presence in their lives was requested.

"Chaz, Chaz!" came the excited chirp, from the young boy, as he turned and eyed her excitedly. With a giggle, the bitch turned her head to glance back along the trail towards her charge, who had stopped whilst she reminisced. "Yes, Grae?" she asked, smirking at the pup. "I heard a howl, but you didn't, I think? But it was them and they want us to go meet up. Again, you know?" he said it quickly, in one breath, as though he had been caught off guard by the information and had been in his own thoughts-- though obviously not as deep as Chaz had been.

With an appreciative nod, the black female lowered her muzzle to the ground, sniffing curiously at the dirt before raising her nose to the sky, securing their location, as well as the area where she and her troupe were set to meet. "Good job," she murmured at him, before setting out in the direction in which the scent had come from.

The child grinned, pleased that he had caught something that his much older friend had not, and as such had helped them catch a signal that would lead them to his family! This excited the white pup so very much, for it had been days since he'd seen the people whom he had been raised around-- excepting Chaz-- and had felt decidedly rejected and depressed when he wasn't around those whom his world revolved around.

Following the black female, he found that he had to run much faster than she did, just to keep up. Normally, he wouldn't find a problem in this-- youth brought with it the energy that his elder lacked-- however, recently his hind hocks had sprouted, and his spine had lengthened, leaving his butt much higher than his shoulders and causing his hind legs to occasionally hit his front ones when he went too fast.

The young male sighed as their destination came into his sight, and right before his eyes Chaz seemed to fade away, her pelt matching the shadows as she gave him one last proud look; he knew that she was still there, lurking, waiting to join him when the rest of the group had arrived, arriving "fashionably late" like the suave person she was, always demanding attention and drawing it to herself-- much like him, in that aspect.

With a nod, the pup trotted into the clearing, his eyes instantly snapping on to his brother. A delighted yip left his lips as he bounced towards the green-eyed pup, his own grey eyes twinkling with excitement. "Just you an me, so far?" he asked, his voice curious and expertly hiding the lie that hung between them-- he wouldn't alert his brother to Chaz's presence if she did not desire that, though he wasn't sure if the green-eyed twin had caught her scent or not, anyways.

Nipping playfully at the air beside his Lestat's ear, his white tail began to wag gleefully as the warmth of being near his brother, and the excitement of his family's meeting pumped through him.
